The Premier League have released a statement roundly condemning the introduction of the European Super League after 14 of their clubs held a meeting to discuss their next steps.

Six clubs - ArsenalChelseaLiverpoolManchester CityManchester United and Tottenham - signed up to the new league on Sunday, resulting in fierce criticism from their own fans, supporters of other teams, some players, management and even government.
