The Speaker of the County Assembly of Wajir, Abdille Yussuf Mohamed, has congratulated the County government for investing in the health sector, particularly in the upgrading of Eldas Hospital to a Level-Four hospital.

The modernised facility includes an advanced laboratory, a radiology unit, a comprehensive maternity section with a fully equipped newborn area, and improved male and female wards.

In his address during the Mashujaa Day celebrations, held at Eldas Baraza Grounds, the Speaker said that the upgrading of the hospital is a blessing for the people of Eldas and the neighbouring towns.

"The services are now closer to the common man and I think that's a wonderful achievement by the County government," he said.

The Speaker also urged the personnel of the upgraded hospital to maintain a high level of professionalism and ensure the health facility is accessible and operational 24/7.

In his address, the Speaker also underscored the place and mandate of the County Assembly. He stated that the Assembly has lined up a number of critical bills for public participation, which includes the Wajir County Water Management Bill, the Wajir County Livestock Marketing Bill, Wajir County Peace, County Cohesion and Integration Bill, FCDC Bill and the Wajir County Public Participation and Civic Education Bill.
