There was a commotion at the National Tallying center at the Bomas of Kenya on Friday evening between allies of the leading presidential candidates.

It emerged that some leaders from Azimio la Umoja coalition had taken issue with those from the Kenya Kwanza brigade over claims of interfering with the physical forms.

Ruaraka MP-elect Tom Kajwang' and Gender CAS Rachel Shebesh can be seen in the video engaged in a war of words with Uasin Gishu Woman Representative-elect Gladys Shollei.

IEBC Vice Chair Juliana Cherera is heard in the background calling for calm as security officers try to contain the chaos.

"Attention everyone, let's maintain order. Security please take charge," Cherera is heard saying.

Emotions ran high in the auditorium at around 8.40 pm on Friday, pitting leaders of the two camps. Another commotion was witnessed at exactly 11.46 pm.

The Standard established that it wasn't the first incident of confusion, as it had been happening throughout the day.

Earlier, Cherera announced that all 290 Returning officers have already reported to the Bomas of Kenya, but the commission is yet to clear even half of them.

"We have 290 ROs who have reported to Bomas but so far we haven't even cleared half of them. We urge those at the tables to hasten their pace so that all of them can be cleared by tomorrow morning, Cherera said.
