Police Constable dies while undergoing an Inspectorate training in Embakasi

A graduate police constable has died under unclear circumstances at Embakasi Campus 'A' in Nairobi.

Police say Bernard Khisa Wabwoba, who was among 1,048 graduates attending special inspectorate courses, collapsed during a morning run route at the campus.

Confirming the incident, Assistant Inspector General Commandant of Embakasi Campus 'A' James Kamau said the Wabwoba died at 3pm on Tuesday, November 22.

Kamau added that the deceased's cause of his death is yet to be established.

"Wabwoba was immediately rushed to the Campus health facility where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body had no physical injury and he had not complained of any sickness before the orientation exercise," Kamau said.

The remains of the 34-year-old have been transferred to Kenyatta University Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Wabwoba was among graduate officers who reported to various training camps on Friday, November 18.

The officers reported to the three training camps; National Police Commission main campus - Kiganjo, NPS Embakasi A campus and NPS Embakasi B Campus.

600 of them were deployed to Kiganjo, 228 to Embakasi A and the rest, 220 to Embakasi B Campus respectively.
