FIFA bans top official Lai over $1 mn in bribes

A top official at FIFA was banned for 90 days on Friday by football's governing body after he pleaded guilty in the United States to taking nearly $1 million in bribes.

Richard Lai, 55, president of Guam's football federation since 2001, admitted in a federal court in New York on Thursday to accepting bribes from 2009 to 2014.
