Despite taking to golf less than a year ago, Elizabeth Akinyi beat seasoned golfers to emerge the overall winner of the fourth leg of the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) 'Tembe Kenya' Golf Series at Nyanza Golf Club.

Akinyi, playing off handicap 36, posted a total of 42 points (21+21) for her feat. Handicap 17 Ramesh Karia emerged the men's winner in the day-long event on 41 stableford points (21,20), while Balminder Sokhi, playing off handicap 12, settled for the men's runner-up position with 40 points (20+20). Handicap 17 Samuel Onyango was third on 39 points.
