Busia’s Hoha FC bagged all three points in a highly contested match after narrowly edging out visiting Samitsi FC 1-0 in the FKF Division Two League Zone A clash staged at Busende grounds in Matayos, Busia County.

The match started with both teams displaying attacking intent, eager to break the deadlock and claim crucial points. Samitsi FC and Hoha FC traded blows, with each side relentlessly pressing forward in pursuit of a breakthrough.

The only goal of the match came in the 88th minute when Hoha's Ramos Wandera delivered a stunning volley, catching Samitsi's goalkeeper Alex Nandwa off guard.

Despite desperate efforts by Samitsi FC, including tactical changes and substitutions, they couldn't find an equalizer before the final whistle. Hoha FC's defensive resilience and strategic play held firm, denying Samitsi any clear-cut chances.

Hoha FC captain Charles Okii credited the victory to meticulous preparation and the team's burning desire to ascend to the FKF Division One league.

"We identified Samitsi FC's weaknesses and capitalized on them. This win is a testament to our hard work and determination. We want to thank God and the management," Okii emphasized.

On the other hand, Samitsi FC's head coach, Jafar Abdi, acknowledged Hoha FC's quality and expressed determination to bounce back in their next fixture against Young Stars.

"Hoha FC has talented players, and they deserved the win today. We'll regroup and rectify our mistakes," Abdi remarked.

Hoha Chairman Jacquesh Papai expressed his excitement and commended the players for their hard work. He said the team’s good preparations paid off.

“It is a match that we had assured our fans we will win. HOHA will continue to register positive results,” said Papai.

Hoha head coach Nicholas Okubala said the focus on finishing played a significant role in securing the much-needed goal.

Okubala’s sentiments were echoed by his assistant Dennis Olakhi who said the three points have lifted the club to 32 points from 29 on the league standings.

Olakhi added that Hoha FC now shifts its focus to the next game against Bungoma Stars.
