Kakamega Homeboyz will be seeking to continue their good run against Gor Mahia when they welcome the record Kenyan league champions to Bukhungu Stadium today as the FKF Premier League starts to gather pace.

Seven matches will be played across different venues in Nairobi, Kisumu and Kakamega as champions Tusker play an inform Nzoia Sugar side in a top of the table clash at Ruaraka.

In Kakamega, Homeboyz who are sixth on the log have lost once against Gor in the last three matches and went unbeaten against the former champions during the botched 2021-2022 season.

Homeboyz however head into the game behind a winless run of three matches, a form which might cost them considering Gor Mahia's near perfect start that places them fifth with two games in hand.

Furthermore, K'Ogalo have inform striker Benson Omalla who is scoring for fun in the 2022-2023 season.

Omalla leads the race for the Golden Boot in the Premier League with six goals so far.

At Ruaraka, defending champions will hope to put behind them their first defeat of the season at the hands of Bandari last weekend as they welcome Nzoia Sugar.

The Brewers lost 2-1 to the Dockers at the Coast and will face a daunting task to stop Nzoia who have not lost a match in their last seven matches (won five and drawn two).

In Muhoroni, Wazito will welcome AFC Leopards at Muhoroni Stadium aiming to collect their second win of the season as Kenya Police play Ulinzi Stars at Kasarani.

Tomorrow, KCB will be banking on their two consecutive wins against Gor Mahia and Talanta to inspire them to their first home win of the season when they host Kariobangi Sharks at Nyayo Stadium.

In their opening eight matches, the bankers have won five matches away and lost all three home games.

However, KCB FC midfielder Brian Ochieng said it's a new year with new start and have probably left the home defeat curse in 2022.

"We have started the year well with two back-to-back wins and that gives us confidence going into the third match that it will be a good outing for us and I am confident that we will get all three points," Ochieng' told the club's media.

"Consistency was an issue for us last year but since we have started out well everyone has the courage that we are going to win the game."
