Kakamega Homeboyz dropped vital points after being held to a 1-1 draw against Gor Mahia in a FKF Premier League match staged at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.

Sammy Onyango gave the record Kenyan champions the lead in the 52nd minute before Michael Karamor salvaged a point for the visitors who now lead Tusker with one point.

Homeboyz are still top of the standings with 57 points, a point behind Tusker who host a struggling Nzoia Sugar side who are on a seven-match winless run.

Defending champions Tusker can open a two-point lead in the race to win the 2021-2022 FKF Premier League title if they defeat Nzoia Sugar on Sunday

Elsewhere, AFC Leopards survived a second half comeback by FC Talanta to win 3-2 in a five goal thriller match at Nyayo Stadium.

Leopards led 2-0 at the break courtesy of Victor Omune and Tedian Esilaba’s first half goals before a resilient Talanta side restored parity after substitutes Brian Yakhama and Kevintom Machika scored in a span of two minutes with seven minutes left to full time.

Ingwe had the last laugh after Omune broke Talanta’s hearts with a stoppage time goal.

Other results saw KCB thrash Nairobi City Stars 3-2, Posta Rangers drew 1-1 with Sofapaka as Kenya Police edged out Bidco United 1-0.
