Wazito FC defender Rooney Onyango is confident of helping his team bounce back to winning ways when they take on KCB in a FKF Premier League match set to played at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.

Wazito were hammered 3-0 by defending champions Tusker during the mid-week matches played on Wednesday and Onyango has said they have to bounce back against the bankers.

Speaking to the club’s media, Onyango says they have to pick maximum points from the game. He says the desire to move away from the red zone is motivation enough to give their best.

“It is a must-win game for us, when you look at our position in the table, I believe that we do not deserve to be there, we should be in a better position.”

“That is the biggest motivation heading to tomorrow’s game, we have to get out of that danger zone and move to where we will not be under too much pressure,” Onyango said.

The Fred Ambani led team is currently fifteenth in the FKF Premier League with 20 points, a point above relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Tusker forward Deogratious Ojok says he targets to score double digit goals this season, with 13 matches left before the end of the campaign.

Ojok joined Tusker at the start of the season from Ugandan side Bul FC and his brace last Tuesday against Wazito FC took his tally for the season to five goals.

“When I came into the team, I had my goals and targets made for the season. It has not been easy especially with injury but now I have come back strong and I am at least going to push hard to meet my goals.”

“My target was to score at least 15 goals this season, and I am still aiming towards more. This not enough for me as a striker,” Ojok told the club website said.

He took his tally for the season to five with the brace against Wazito FC on Tuesday and says the goal is a massive motivation for him to keep working and achieve more.

“I feel delighted because it had been a long time since I scored. I have been on and off with injury but on my second game since coming back I scored and I am grateful. I hope this will give us encouragement as a team to go for the team and personally, it will motivate me to add more effort,” he added.

The forward believes with more playing time after overcoming injury, he is in the right frame of mind to attain his targets and help the club defend their FKF Premier League title.
