The 2021-2022 FKF Premier League will kick off on Saturday with Gor Mahia versus last year’s runners up KCB set to highlight the six matches on the cards.
The new season kicks off without a title sponsor which also signals tough financial times for many clubs which lack sponsorship.
The financial turmoil comes after the exit of title sponsors BetKing who left towards the end of last season.
Despite that, the Football Kenya Federation expects the league to resume with six matches set to be played across the country.
Gor and KCB will highlight the return of the league in an early kick-off clash at Thika Stadium which will host a doubleheader with Posta Rangers set to host Kariobangi Sharks later in the afternoon.
Newbies Talanta and Vihiga Bullets will kick off their topflight campaign against Wazito and Bidco United respectively on the same day that will see Sofapaka entertain Nairobi City Stars.
Champions Tusker will launch their title defence against AFC Leopards on Sunday. Having signed over 10 top players locally and regionally, all eyes will be on the brewers who are viewed as the team to beat with the new additions.
On the same day, Ulinzi Stars play Nzoia Sugar and Kenya Police debut against Kakamega Homeboyz.
