Champions Gor Mahia’s hopes of facing Everton for the second time in the Sportpesa Super Cup were ended yesterday after losing 4-3 on penalties to Tanzania’s Mbao in a quarter-final match at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.

Dennis Oliech’s penalty in the 51st minute was not enough to propel the champions to the semi-finals of the Sportpesa Cup, as Mbao were soon level to push the tie to penalty shootouts.
