Tusker keep pressure on Gor as Omalla strikes his 21st goal of the season

Benson Omalla scored his 21st goal of the 2022-2023 season to inspire Gor Mahia to a 2-1 win over Bandari in a midweek FKF Premier League match played at Mbaraki Sports Complex on Wednesday in Mombasa.

Omalla had gone four matches without hitting the back of the net and his second half double saw Gor maintain their four-point lead at the top of the standings.

Andrew Juma scored the dockers' consolation 15 minutes from full time as K'Ogalo remain top with 52 points.

Defending champions Tusker follow closely in second place with 48 points after whipping Mathare United 2-0 courtesy of Rodgers Ouma's brace at Ruaraka Grounds which hosted a double header.

In the early kick off match, Timothy Otieno scored the lone goal as Posta Rangers saw off Bidco United 1-0. The win moved the mail men to eighth on 34 points as Bidco hang four points away from the relegation zone.

At Police Sacco Stadium, Elvis Rupia scored a brace as Kenya Police thrashed Nairobi City Stars 4-2. In the earlier match at the same stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz hammered hosts Kariobangi Sharks 3-1.

Derrick Otanga and Clifton Miheso added to Rupia's strike as Police moved fifth with 40 points, two points off the top four. City Stars on the other hand remained in the relegation zone with 20 points.

In Kisumu, Nzoia Sugar thrashed bottom placed Wazito 3-0 at Muhoroni Stadium to maintain their third place on 45 points.
