Sensational swimmer Duini Caffini shattered her own record as Aga Khan Academy Mombasa asserted their supremacy at the Casa mixed level age group open and masters swimming gala in Mombasa.

The three-day swimming championships attracted teams from Nairobi and Mombasa and was due to conclude on Sunday February 12 at the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa.

Swimming for Bandari Club, Caffini smashed her own record in girls 14/15 years 100m breaststroke of 1.19.96 she set on June 26 last year to register a new course record of 1.19.51.

"I am excited with the performance but I aim at lowering it further," said Caffini.

As Cuffini lowered the record, Aga Khan swimmers proved they were mentally well prepared for the gala after they registered a string of victories in different age group races.

In girls 12/13 years 50m freestyle level two, Atia Tendo and Aminaz Kachra both from Aga Khan clocked 30.80 and 31.58 for first and second positions. Amina Sheikh from Bandari touched the line with a time of 33.09 for the third spot.
