Liverpool announce death of another former player

Donald Woan, former Liverpool forward has died at the age of 92, the club have confirmed.

Liverpool made the announcement on their Website and social media on Tuesday, April 27.

We're deeply saddened by the passing of our former player Donald Woan, aged 92.

The thoughts of everybody at Liverpool Football Club are with Donald’s family and friends at this sad time.

Woan made two appearances for Liverpool during the 1950-51 season but was a regular starter for the reserve team in the Central League.

He made his senior debut for the Reds on January 13, 1951, when he was in the starting line-up in a 2-1 victory away at Derby County.

He then appeared in the starting line-up in the following game in an encounter with Everton at Anfield.

Woan joined Liverpool from Bootle Athletic in 1950. He moved to Leyton Orient a year later before going on to don the colours of Bradford City, Tranmere Rovers and Yeovil Town.
