Betika investing in Kenyan youth

In August, Betika gave their customers a chance to win big by launching their 100 Million Jackpot, one of the biggest in the country.

With most betting firms requiring at least Sh100 to place a single jackpot bet, Betika delighted its customers by lowering the bar to Sh49 on a 17 game jackpot with bonuses starting from 12 to 16 correct predictions.

Other than being the sponsor to Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Sofapaka, Betika has continually been investing in local sports to promote local talent.

In the recent past, they have sponsored and held local football tournaments, providing kits, prize money and facilitating the venues and teams.

The tournaments include the Score Kenya tournament in Kibera, the Kriss Darling Cup, kitting Bongonaya FC, the Inter-estates tournament in Nakuru and many more.

The first edition of Inter-Estates tournament in Nakuru was held over the past three weekends. It involved 20 teams and was played at the Kamkunji Grounds in Nakuru, with Betika kitting the teams.

During these events, the company has been interacting with many youths, some who have other diverse talents unrelated to sports.

For example, in the build-up to the score tournament in Kibera, Betika met Kevin Agure, a local comedian who using his artistry had created a Betika dummy cheque.

All he was asking for from Betika was Sh500 but the firm extended a goodwill gesture and gave him a cheque of Sh 50,000. They asked him to use it to positively change his life. Kevin has since started a small business and is able to cater for his daily needs.

Betika is looking forward to doing more of these tournaments in the grassroots and meeting youths to help them nurture talent and get into the professional world of sports.
