Jose Mourinho appears to be on the brink of being re-appointed at Real Madrid - but there are four Bernabeu stars who do not want the former Manchester United manager back.

Portuguese chief Mourinho first took the reins at Real between 2010 and 2013 where he managed 128 wins in 178 games - during which time he lifted the La Liga and Copa del Rey trophies.

And he is ready to return to Spain with Santiago Solari set to be sacked imminently after a horror week.

Real waved the white flag on their La Liga chances after falling 12 points behind leaders Barcelona, were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by their El Clasico rivals before Ajax sensationally thrashed them 4-1 at the Bernabeu to dump them out the Champions League.

Mourinho is, therefore, being lined up for an immediate arrival, with Florentino Perez set to meet club directors on Monday, but not everyone is happy about 'The Special One's' comeback, according to the Daily Mail.

Captain Sergio Ramos will hunt for a summer move as he moves into the last year of his contract at Real.

The defender grew tired of Mourinho publicly criticising him and being singled out for poor performances during the ex-Chelsea boss's original stint.

Surprisingly, Gareth Bale is also about the plan.

Bale had been courted by Mourinho over the last few summers to join United but no move came off - but the Welshman will not welcome his arrival.

Long-standing Real stars Marcelo and Karim Benzema will also seek out a transfer in the summer if Mourinho turns up in Madrid - with the former eyeing up a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

All four have reportedly spoken to head honcho Perez, but have been told their voices will not be listened to.
