It all started as a normal match day for Kieran, a qualified referee from the 6th tier of Scottish football who left his home to go watch the Stranraer vs Stenhousemuir's Scottish League One clash.
But during the match, something unusual happened as he was hilariously called upon to take over from the matchday linesman who had suffered a hamstring injury and was forced off the touchline.
The lineman only lasted nine minutes in the game played at Stair Park in Scotland before he had to come off.
The game was temporarily suspended as other match officials desperately searched for a replacement to their injured colleague.
In the initial stages of the search, there appeared to be no one to replace the linesman but then came the salvation they were looking for when a man named Kieran stepped up to grab the flag.
It took 11 minutes for him to change into official attire which resulted in a lengthy first-half stoppage time in which both teams scored.
The teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw after a goalless second half.
