Ujuzisoka Soccer Academy concluded their one-week training in Salou, Spain with mixed results against La Selva De Camp and Cambrils Academy before returning to Nairobi.

The Nairobi-based youth academy took two sets of teams aged Under-12 and Under-14 to Spain at the invitation of Koolton Sports Academy.

While the Under-14 team beat La Selva De Camp 4-3, the Under-12 team lost 4-1 to Cambrils on Monday.

Ujuzisoka players Mammo Nyiera, Densil Kalume, Ryan Mumbo, Johari Poreka, Gabriel Jude, Anthony Ndolo, Ariel Kariuki, Ryan Githinji and George shared the same sentiments;

“One of my best experiences here is how important it is to play as a team,” Ryan Mumbo said.

“We came from different academies, but we had to find a way of playing as a team against a side that has been together for a longer time than us. Yet we blended well,” Gabriel Jude said.

Mammo Nyiera said: “It is our wish that we get a junior league back home.”

Koolton Sports Academy head coach Marc Miquel said it is up to the coaches to continue with the drills the kids learnt in Spain.

“The juniors have shown the desire to learn. What remains is for the coaches back in Kenya to continue polishing their skills, motivate and encourage them,” Miguel said. [Standard Sports]
