Robert Nyamongo emerged the Overall winner of the National Gun Owners Association (NGOA) Range Shooting with his Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) during the Competition that was staged at the Kirigiti Gun Owners Range Association Club over the weekend.

Nyamongo won all the six CoF’s to win a total of 12 points in a time of 124.43 to clinch the title with a lot of ease.

“It is a good day, I have continually improved in gun shooting and the win gives me a lot of pride in the steps I’ve made to improve,” said Nyamongo.

Omar Mohammed was second in his Stock Service Pistol (SSP) in a time of 129.99 to collect 10 Points in all the Six CoF’s.

Third overall was the Vice Chairman of the NGOA, Eng. Sammy Onyango, who clocked 137.62 to amass 15 points in all the CoF’s.

The NGOA has partnered with the Kenya Prisons Staff Training College Range Ruiru to organize competitions that bring together civilian firearm holders and members of the disciplined forces – Kenya Defense Forces, Kenya Prisons & Kenya Police (GSU, CID, and PEU).

The Vice Chairman, Eng. Onyango said “Our mandate extends to offering our members frequent training on safe firearms handling lessons that serve as a core element of preserving public safety.

We thus provide quality training for licensed firearm holders in the proper use, handling and safe storage of firearms. We also seek to promote shooting as a sport in the country as we believe Kenya has the necessary abilities to compete in the Olympics, Commonwealth and other such sporting events.”

Muriuki Memba was the fourth with an ESP Gun after posting a time of 148.44 to collect 17 points followed by Kiilu Thomas who had a SSP Gun and who registered a time of 155.26 and 18 points.

Members of the NGOA will be going to South Africa next month for a competition to represent the Country.
