Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is set to return to management after AC Milan reached out to him to replace Gennaro Gattuso, according to reports.
The Italian manager was sacked by Chelsea this summer after a distraught season that saw Chelsea fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Multiple reports in Italy claim that the 48-year-old is already in talks with AC Milan in a bid to make an immediate return to management.
Naples radio show Radio Kiss Kiss even reports that the move could be completed within hours. However, according to Metro, Antonio Conte is believed to be preparing legal action against Chelsea after a long stand-off with the club over his £9million pay-off and has requested to be allowed to resolve his situation with the Blues first.
Reports from Metro claim that the former Juventus boss was raging after he was sacked despite being made to return for pre-season training and now wants compensation for damages to his career.
Antonio Conte guided the Blues to Premier League glory in his first season at Stamford Bridge only to struggle the following season that saw him sacked even after winning the FA Cup for the club against Manchester United at Wembley.
