Terrorist group IS has threatened fans and players ahead of the 2018 World Cup set for Russia. The competition has been beset with problems, including England threatening to pull out of the finals after the poisoning of a former spy on British soil.

The Islamist group has renewed its attack and its latest image - released by pro-Isis Wafa Media Foundation via an Indonesian cell - shows members of a terrorist cell in khakis brandishing AK-47 rifles and lining up against the Russian international side with the warnings ‘big match’, ‘IS vs Russia’, and ‘life or death’.
