Jose Mourinho has refused to rule out Manchester United making a move for Mesut Ozil.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Arsenal’s Ozil next summer, when the Germany international is likely to be a free agent

Ozil will feature against United on Saturday along with teammate Alexis Sanchez, who is also a free agent next summer.

Mourinho did nothing to dismiss that link when asked if he would move for Ozil when the player’s contract expires.

“No comment,” said Mourinho, before admitting it was no surprise to him that players like Ozil and Sanchez were happy to run down their contracts

“That’s football. They finish their contracts, Fellaini finishes his contract and there are other important players in Europe in other teams who finish their contracts.

“Sometimes players decide to go in this direction, which is the right that they have. Players have the right to do that and I don’t blame the clubs.

“The clubs, they try. They try, they try, but the players have the right to go into this type of situation and in many times it’s good for them.

“Sometimes they can go on a free transfer and they can get huge salaries.”
