Car dealer bags Sh7m Bet Yetu jackpot

James Muriithi (centre) receives a dummy cheque equivalent of Kshs 7 million from Betyetu PR officer Ms Precious Asiimwe and Marketing Manager James Githinji. Muriithi was awarded the money after he got 13 out of 13 predictions right in the book marker ‘s second ever jackpot.

James Muriithi, a 29-year-old car dealer, is the new millionaire in town after he won Sh7 million by Bet Yetu firm after correctly predicting all 13 matches in last week’s jackpot.

Muriithi, who lives in Zimmerman Estate in Nairobi, is the second Bet Yetu jackpot winner since the bookmarker started operations three years ago. He said he placed two jackpot bets of Ksh50 each but lost the first prediction, adding that there is no secret to winning a bet.

“Forget about people who talk about sure bets. There is no formula or secret in betting.  It is all luck. You just place 13 matches and wait for God’s miracle to happen,” said Muriithi when he received the cheque at a press briefing in Nairobi yesterday.
