Exhausted Kenyan Marathon runner collapses near finish line during Warsaw Marathon

Kenya’s Recho Kosgei was only 800 meters from the finish line during the 39th Warsaw Marathon in Poland on Sunday, when it all went horribly wrong.

Despite being an experienced marathon runner, her body appeared to give up on her with a near-three-minute lead and about a half-mile.

She collapsed to the concrete about 2 hours, 30 minutes into the 26.2-mile race.

Thereafter, she tried very hard to continue with the race, but unfortunately she was no fit to stand on her feet or even walk.

Kenya’s Recho Kosgei

Her struggle lasted nearly three minutes before another runner who had no chance of finishing the race stopped to help her.

Clearly distraught, powerless Kosgei opted out of the race and did not finish despite being so close to the finish line.

The 32 year old was eventually treated by Paramedic, according to Polish media.

Why does no one help her? - This question was asked by everyone who saw the shocking video.
