Chelsea could miss out on another target after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang moved a step closer to securing a big money move to Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjian.

The prolific forward has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League champions and reports suggested that they could switch their attentions to the Gabon forward after they missed out on their attempts to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

Aubameyang has a formidable record for Borussia Dortmund following his move to the Bundesliga side and has scored 120 goals in 189 appearances following his debut back in 2013.

The 28-year-old has also attracted interest from China with Tianjin Quanjian leading the chase to clinch his signature as they look to make a record-breaking move to sign him.

Reports in Italy are now stating that Tianjin are stepping up their efforts to conclude the deal and could make a big announcement on Tuesday.

Aubameyang teased his fans over his next destination when he posted a pictures on his Instagram page saying: 'Ready for new adventures'

Stories suggest that the deal is being held up as Aubameyang's representatives continue to negotiate his personal terms but his long-term future could be finalised in the next 24 hours.
