Alexis Sanchez: I want to join Man City but…

Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez has his heart set on a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, but could have to force his way to the Etihad this summer. According to The Sun.

Sanchez has so far refused to commit his long-term future to the Gunners, with just a year left to run on his contract.

Pep has been on red alert for months, and is hoping he can pull off a deal for the striker ahead of Bayern Munich this summer.

Manchester Evening News report City will pull out all the stops to convince Arsene Wenger to do business.

And if Arsenal have to sell, they would prefer their 28-year-old talisman to move abroad, instead of joining a direct rival.

Sanchez does fancy working with Guardiola again as the Spaniard signed him from Udinese in 2011, but it all could depend on just how much the Chilean wants out of north London this summer.

Wenger will now want to go through the humiliation of selling to another Premier League club, especially City who have been regulars shoppers in north London over the years.

Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna all left the Gunners heading north to the Etihad.

And to make matters worse Robin Van Persie left Arsenal to join Manchester United in 2012 for £24million.

German giants Bayern Munich are also chasing Sanchez and have tabled a £40million bid for the Chile international.

It could be be another huge test of the Gunners resolve to keep the striker away from City and usher him towards the Bundesliga.

City already have Gabriel Jesus and will be boosted by the news top scorer Sergio Aguero will also be staying on next season.

Pep was monitoring Hector Bellerin until the defender decided to sign a new deal, however if City push for one of Wenger’s squad, history tells us they have a great chance of getting what they want.
