Victor Wanyama leads well-wishes to Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has wished Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman a speedy recovery after the full-back was stretched off with a broken leg against Wales.

Coleman had surgery on his broken leg Saturday following a horror tackle by Wales's Neil Taylor in Friday's goalless World Cup qualifying draw in Dublin.

Taylor was sent off in the 71st minute at Lansdowne Road, with Everton full-back Coleman taken off on a stretcher after his right foot was left dangling by an ugly foul.

After the game, tweets from all over the footballing world- among them Victor Wanyama started coming in bearing the player good wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.

Those from the sporting community also united in wishing Coleman speedy recovery.
