Zetech University against USIU during their UCL match at USIU grounds in Nairobi at the weekend

Zetech University had a splendid performance in the University and Colleges League (UCL) at the weekend.

Zetech defeated NIBS Ruiru Campus 1-0 in football at United States International University.

Aaron Omari scored the solitary goal in the 49th minute after both sides drew 0-0 at half time.

NIBS Nairobi campus defeated Thika School of Medical And Health Sciences (TSMHS) 3-1.

Caleb Olilo opened the scores for NIBS after 20 minutes before Titus Oriya ensured parity one minute later.

Hillary Ayondi scored the second goal in the 31st minute, before Frank Ayondi added the third in the 46th minute for that vital win.

In rugby, Zetech had the last laugh after defeating Mount Kenya University (MKU) 13-12.

Meanwhile, Nakumatt FC officials say they are pleased with their new signings in the 2017 Kenyan Premier League season.

The team signed 11 players. One of their new acquisitions, defender David Gateri, faced his former side Bandari FC in Mombasa at the weekend. Nakumatt lost 1-0.

"The reception to the top tier has been good and we appreciate our fans for welcoming us in this manner. Our first game in Mombasa at the weekend was tough for sure and the climate really played a huge part in influencing the pace of the game," said Gateri, who is also the team captain.

Nakumatt FC coach said they need to be at their best this season.

"We must ensure that every talent in this team is utilised," said Nakumatt FC chairman Bernard Mosomi.
