After missing for an entire season, Tusker midfielder Brian Osumba has made a comeback and is included in the squad to play in the Africa Champions League.

George Nsimbe, the new Tusker coach included six new signings in the squad for the continental competition.

The Kenya champions play Mauritian giants AS Port-Louis 2000 in the preliminary round of the the championships with Nsimbe saying his goal is to reach the group stage.

“I think we have a good squad for the comopetition. I have had some time with the players and I am impressed with their work rate. We are not yet there because we have trained just a few days but they (players) keep on improving every time.

Tusker were the runners up team of the year at the Sportsman of the Year Awards (SOYA) on Thursday.

Osumba, the midfielder of the year in 2015 missed an entire season last year after breaking his leg in an accident has been on recovery path and started training with the team towards the end of last season.

He says he is happy to be back and will work hard to make it to the starting line up.

“It has been a tough one year for me, but I am happy the team kept faith in me, they encouraged me and in them I had all the moral support I needed,” said Osumba.

“Now that I am back, it is upon me to work hard and return to my best,” he added.
