Granit Xhaka pays 80% of his wages to parents

Arsenal new boy Granit Xhaka has revealed where a large amount of his wages go.

The Swiss midfielder completed a £30m move to the Emirates last month - making him the club's third-highest signing.

He will have agreed a major wage increase after securing his move to London following his spell with Borussia Monchengladbach.

And Xhaka has revealed he gives 80 percent of his wage to his parents with brother Taulant - who lined up against him with Albania on Saturday - doing the same.

"Because we owe our parents everything, we want to give them something back today," he said.

"And we give, each month our income from [football], of course we have a separate account, but 80 percent of our income we send home.

“We are young, we are naive with money, money can go fast again.

“If anyone thinks he is something better, just because he has more money in his account… then he can very quickly fall on his face. The family is our greatest luxury.”
