Kenya Sevens' hopes of replicating their 2013 semifinals feat at the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup ended in the round of 16 on Friday evening after losing 22-07 to Argentina at the Cape Town Stadium, South Africa.
Poor decisions and indiscipline cost Shujaa heavily after two of their players Johnstone Olindi and Samuel Oliech were sin-binned.
Olindi who features for KCB was the first to be sin-binned in the first half.
Shujaa, who had earlier beaten Tonga 19-0 in the preliminary round, found themselves trailing 15-0 at the break after conceding two tries from Tobias Wade and Joaquin De La Vega and a Matias Osadczuk penalty.
KCB's Vincent Onyala brought Shujaa back into the game after the restart with a try but Oliech, who added the extras was sin-binned again gifting the South Americans the numerical advantage.
Alejo Lavayen immediately punished Shujaa who ended up losing 22-7.
Kenya will now play Scotland in the Challenge Trophy quarter-finals on Saturday at 1.37 pm.
Elsewhere, defending champions New Zealand reached the last four after knocking out Scotland 43-5 in the other round-of-16 duel.
Ireland stunned England17-5 to reach the quarter-finals alongside Samoa, who stopped the United States of America 40-12.
