Munyes stops mining licensing in West Pokot

Mining Cabinet Secretary John Munyes has put on hold issuance of mining licenses in West Pokot County to make room for the participation of local leaders and residents.

"There has been fear that one investor had been issued 99 years' lease to mine minerals in the county. We have halted all licences until public participation is done,” Mr Munyes said yesterday.
