Narok man charged for defiling 11-year-old daughter

Narok, Kenya: A middle-aged man has been arraigned before a Narok court charged with defiling his 11-year-old daughter.

The court heard the man committed the act between April 2014 and October 2015 in Naning’o village, Narok South sub-county.

He is said to have defiled his daughter when the mother was away preparing for her late father’s burial.

The court heard when the mother came from the burial, she realised her daughter was having difficulty walking, and when she inquired from the school headteacher what was happening, her husband was furious.

“When my husband realised I had inquired from the teachers the reason my child had a funny walking style, he beat me and forced me to go back to my maternal home,” the mother testified.

After the mother left, he continued defiling the minor until the headteacher reported the matter to the police.

The accused, who appeared before Narok Senior Resident Magistrate Allan Sitati, pleaded not guilty to the offence. He will remain in custody until November 11, when his case will be heard.
