The MP hinted the President is expected to address a joint peace caravan later in the week at Turkwel power plant along the Turkana –Border. “We do not want leaders to politicise the President’s trip to the region. This is purely a peace mission meant to bring healing and reconciliation,” Nakuleu told leaders in Lodwar.

Loima Constituency MP Protus Akuja decried rampant cattle rustling in the region. He said dozens of people have been displaced by raids in his area and claimed the Government was doing little to stop this. “Most families have fled Lorengippi, Naipa, Ulukuse, Moruongor and Kotaruk fearing repeat attacks,” Akuja said.

Turkana south MP James Lomenen said the Turkana-Pokot border conflicts have been the source of clashes between the two communities. Lomenen appealed to the Government to move with speed to address the border dispute amicably.
