Amani National Congress (ANC) will not rescind  its decision to expel nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi.

ANC chairman Kelvin Lunani said the decision Osotsi took to challenge his expulsion in court was the best as the Judiciary is independent.

Speaking after meeting youth allied to the party in Busia, Lunani said Osotsi is being used by rival parties to fight party leader Musalia Mudavadi.

Lunani further said the embattled lawmaker disrespects Mudavadi.

He said the party will follow all channels until the MP is expelled.

“It is good that Osotsi opted to move to court. We are happy because that is where he feels justice will be served, we shall not condone people with no respect for the party,” said Lunani.

The party chairman said the decision taken by the National Executive Council to expel Osotsi is final.

The MP added that he is the owner and founder member of the party and no one can take that away.

"I founded the party and welcomed Mudavadi to it. How can it now be that the people I gave shelter want to chase me away from my house?" said the MP in an interview with The Standard.

Osotsi has been castigated for allegedly being used to fight Mudavadi by forces keen to take control of the party.

Lunani asked President Uhuru Kenyatta not to relent in the fight against corruption, adding that ANC will support the push.

“Some cabinet secretaries are facing serious graft allegations. They should step aside to clear their names, and when found innocentthey can be re-appointed,” said Lunani.

Separately, Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong' told Uhuru to tread carefully in his fight against corruption.

Ojaamong' defended Deputy President William Ruto against corruption allegations labelled against him.

“The DP is being labelled as a corrupt leader but we are not being told what he has stolen," he said.
