Kisii development projects not funded by Jubilee, says Raila

National Super Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga has said that some of the development projects being launched in the county by the Jubilee leadership were initiated by the grand coalition government when he was prime minister.

Raila accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto, of riding on projects they did not initiate to gain political relevance in the region.

He said the coalition laid the foundation for several roads in the region and the elevation of the Kisii hospital to teaching and referral level.

Speaking during an interview on a local FM station, Raila said none of the road projects the government had launched was funded in the current financial year.

Raila took to the local station ahead of a series of NASA rallies in Kisii today.

"Jubilee must tell Kenyans what they have done instead of clutching at projects we started during the coalition government," he said, adding that the region was well represented in the alliance through Kitutu Masaba legislator Timothy Bosire, nominated Senator Janet Ongera, and Kisii Governor James Ongwae.
