PNU will not dissolve to join newly formed Jubilee Party, says official

The Party of National Unity (PNU) has said it will not dissolve to join the Jubilee Party. Secretary General John Anunda said the National Executive Committee (NEC) had resolved that PNU would remain independent and was not party to the planned political outfit that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto plan to use to seek re-election in 2017 polls.

“We will go with our independent identity in 2017 but will support President Kenyatta’s re-election,” said Mr Anunda. He also called on the electoral body to extend the voter listing period.
