Do not respond to verbal attacks by CORD, Uhuru advised

A governor has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto not to bother responding to verbal attacks by the Opposition.

Kirinyaga Governor Joseph Ndathi said, instead, their lieutenants like Starehe MP Maina Kamanda and his Kieni counterpart Kanini Kega should be allowed to respond to such criticism.

"The Jubilee principals are serious nationalists who should not bother with this," he said, adding that CORD should criticise the Government objectively.

He was speaking at Kianyaga Anglican Church of Kenya's fund-raiser, which was presided over by Mr Ruto.

His sentiments were backed by several MPs at the occasion who said CORD had run out of ideas and resorted to "attacking public servants".

CORD legislator Kisoi Munyao (Mbooni) said although he was on the Opposition's side, the Government's development agenda was positive and for the country's good.

The Sh40 million church is set to be completed before the 2017 elections.
