Kisumu, Kenya: The Council of Governors (CoG) has accused Deputy President William Ruto of insincerity  over his threats against Jubilee supporters pushing for the 'Pesa Mashinani' initiative.

Speaking on Saturday in Kisumu during the launch of the initiative in the region, CoG Chairman Isaac Ruto, who is also the Bomet Governor, also called on the Deputy President to stop insulting CORD leader Raila Odinga, saying he deserves respect.

''If an idea is good, it should be supported regardless of who owns it. The DP has no moral authority to insult us since he has many pending court cases,'' he said.

Ruto said they will not relent in their push for more funds for counties even if other governors abandon the campaign. "Change on many occasions is not brought by a crowd of people, but even two,'' he said.
