VP pledges to spur wealth creation

By Paul Mutua

Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka has said his Government, if elected president, would provide leadership that stimulates wealth creation.

He told his rivals in the presidency to prepare for battle and expressed confidence he will triumph when the votes are cast.

“I have no enmity with any of the aspirants but I encourage them to contribute to a free and fair contest without underhand dealings like rigging in order for the country to settle peacefully after the election. Those who will be beaten should support the winner,” he said.

A section of leaders from Ukambani appealed to Kenyans to support Kalonzo, saying he was qualified to take over as president. They said Kalonzo has a national appeal having interacted with all Kenyan communities for the last 28 years he has been in politics.

Have confidence

Mwingi South MP who is also Assistant Minister for Defence David Musila, Isaac Muoki (Mutomo), Victor Munyaka (Machakos), Charles Nyamai (Kitui West), and Daniel Muoki (Mwala) joined former Cabinet ministers Francis Nyenze and Nyiva Mwendwa in drumming up support for Kalonzo.

Mr Musila urged the Kamba community to rally behind the VP in order for other Kenyans to have confidence in him.

“Charity begins at home and when you give your undivided support other Kenyans will take the cue and support him for the presidency,” he said.

Mr Muoki said the fact that Wiper councillor for Matinyani ward triumphed over Charity Ngilu’s Narc party candidate meant that the region was fully behind Kalonzo.

God-fearing leader

Pastor Muoki appealed to the community to support the VP because he is a God fearing leader.

The leaders were speaking in Matinyani, Kitui West Constituency during celebrations of the victory of councillor Anthony Kyalo Muthui.
