Why political elite stealing to move to posh neighbourhoods will suffer from sleepless nights

For decades, US President Joe Biden commuted from his Delaware home, some 100 miles from Washington, during his tenure as senator. He still retains his home and will probably retire there when his term is over.

Within months of their appointments, Kenyan cabinet ministers, governors, senators, and MPs and what have you, plot to move out of their neighbourhoods where they have lived for a lifetime. It's as though public office is a jackpot - even jackpots have a limitation of prize money - where money is guaranteed to flow for the rest of their lives.
