Alas! Mututho did toast to his new job too soon

PETER KIMANI}  seriously speaking

Former Naivasha MP John Mututho is now the former Nacada chairman. His appointment was revoked by Prezzo UK barely a month after being given the job.

Surprisingly, no one is shedding any tears, not even the women who routinely throng the streets proclaiming their men have become what retired Prezzo Kibaki calls bure kabisa (very useless).

There is not a single politician lamenting that Mututho’s firing is somehow connected to the next General Election, as youthful populations in certain areas where his party draws support are imperilled with cheap, illicit brews.

This loud silence is quite telling; but Mututho can’t say he wasn’t warned. I warned against his new-found ostentation, such as his love of big cars, getting Government drivers assigned beyond office hours, or even electronic gadgets like iPads that he reportedly demanded for himself and his board, almost with menace.

DRUNK WITH POWER

But since I’m not in the habit of prophesying, I can hardly attribute his firing to the compendium of inanities that I listed here last month. I suspect what cost Mututho his job is that he got drunk with power just too soon. And that’s not a very bad thing for a teetotaller since he will not suffer a hangover for too long.
