Police boss orders immediate probe into Kisii killing incident

Nyanza Regional Police Commandant John Muiruri has ordered an immediate probe into the alleged assault of a 28-year-old man at Kisii Central Police station on Saturday night.

The victim, Bramwel Jimmy, later succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at Nyanchwa Adventist Mission Hospital.

"The National Police Service has taken over the matter and we expect to receive the report soon. A postmortem is being done to establish the cause of the death," says Muiruri.

Muiruri said those responsible for the assault, whether police officers or civilians, will be brought to book.

Prior to his death, the deceased had been operating a mobile phone repair shop in Kisii town.
