Three murdered in Ndhiwa

Police in Homa Bay County have launched investigations into the murder of two people.

The deaths add to a growing list of people murdered in the region under unclear circumstances.

In the first incident, the body of a teacher identified as Henry Alal was found dumped by the roadside near Wachara trading centre in Ndhiwa Sub-county on Tuesday.

Residents suspect the teacher might have been murdered at his Nyonyangre village in North Kwabwai Location before his body was dumped by the roadside.

According to North Kwabwai Location Chief Otieno Okoro, the teacher was last seen on Monday at about 5pm with friends.

However, the teacher never returned home. His body had visible injuries on the head, indicating he had been hit with a blunt object.

Man assaulted

“The injuries indicate the young man died after being assaulted. He was seen in the company of friends in the village on Monday evening only for his body to be discovered later that evening,” Okoro said.

The administrator said villagers suspect one of Alwal’s friends committed the heinous act.

“His clothes had blood stains and his words were not adding up. This made people suspect he participated in the murder,” Okoro added.

Ndhiwa Sub-county Police Commander Robert Aboki said they have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder.

In a separate incident, a 30-year-old boda boda rider was killed by a bar attendant in Ndhiwa town on Tuesday night.

“We have detained the bartender at Ndhiwa Police Station to ensure punitive legal action is taken against him,” Aboki said.
