Raila, Matiangi, Wamalwa in Kisii as Ongwae hosts first County BBI consultative forum

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i and his Devolution counterpart Eugene Wamalwa are attending the first county BBI consultative forum hosted by Kisii Governor James Ongwae.

The leaders will be addressing more than 3,000 delegates at Kisii Golf Course before proceeding to Gusii Stadium for a rally.

Governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Anne Waiguru (Kirinyaga) and all the six Governors from the larger Nyanza region have also arrived for the forum.

In the program, there will be an expert session and a plenary session co-chaired by Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyonka and Junet Mohamed (Suna East).

Representatives of different groups will also have a chance to address the forum. CS Matiang’i will later address the meeting and there after invite the former Premier to close the forum before heading to Gusii Stadium.

More than 350 police officers have been deployed inside and outside the venue as well as along Kisii town streets.

Several Senators, MPs and MCAs are also in attendance.
