The fight against water borne infections in Suba North Constituency has received a boost after the State launched four water projects.
The projects are expected to benefit more than 15,000 residents of the constituency.
They include Oseno dam, whose construction is already complete in Gembe East Location. Others are Min Arot borehole, Tweta and Ondiegi water pans.
The projects are being undertaken by the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Sanitation through the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency.
Water Principal Secretary Joseph Irungu, who was accompanied by Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga and Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo, commissioned Oseno dam yesterday.
Mr Irungu also performed ground breaking ceremonies for the other three projects.
The projects will supply more than 112,200 cubic metres of water per day.
Irungu said the projects will help eradicate waterborne diseases in the area.
