Let’s develop Nyamira together, Governor Nyagarama urges local leaders

KENYA: Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has called on local leaders to unite and work towards development.

The governor said fighting over positions already occupied derails development agenda.

Hi calls come barely a week after Senator Okongo Bw’omogeni and Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire lashed at him over what they termed poor leadership and massive corruption.

Speaking on Wednesday at Omogwa Catholic Church in Kitutu Masaba constituency during a fundraising for the church, the governor urged local leaders to steer away from divisive politics and cheap propaganda.

“Come 2017 elections, those of us who will be seeking various elective offices will be judged based on our development score card and not how much propaganda you spread. Our constituents expect us to work together and deliver,” Nyagarama said.

Heb urged residents to exercise caution when electing leaders into any political office.

A section of political leaders from the County led by Okongo had threatened to demand the dissolution of the county government over alleged mismanagement of resources under the watch of the governor.

The senator had threatened to spearhead a campaign to have the governor recalled over allegations of misappropriation of public funds. Nyagarama who recently acquired heavy road construction and maintenance equipment promised to repair county roads once the rainy season ends.
