Among the issues Kenyans expect to be highlighted in Thursday's State of the Nation address is the state of security in the country.
Kenyans expect to hear how secure the country is at all border entry points, and if movement across the country is secure.
This comes as security agencies are deployed around Parliament buildings in Nairobi ahead of the State of the Nation by President William Ruto.
Police from different units including the General Service Unit, regular police, and Anti-Riot Unit have been deployed to man the roads leading in and out of Parliament, including Harambee Avenue and Parliament Road.
Motorists have been diverted to alternative routes as Kenyans continues to mill around Parliament where Ruto is slated to inspect a guard of honour before heading into Parliament where he will deliver his first State of the Nation address since assuming office.
Traffic is expected before and after the event as Members of both houses continue to stream in.
After the address, Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua will head to a tent outside Parliament buildings where they will exchange pleasantries with the lawmakers.
