19 passengers escape with injuries in yet another Kericho accident

19 passengers narrowly escaped death but sustained injuries when the driver of a 51-seater minibus lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and overturn.

The accident happened at Siwot area, along Londiani-Muhuroni junction road in Kericho County, area Police Commander Geoffrey Mayek confirmed.

The bus, which was headed to Kisumu from Nairobi, was involved in the accident at around 5:30 am on Monday, July 3. 

Kericho County Police Commander, Geoffrey Mayek, reported that the majority of the survivors suffered from general body pains.

"They are currently receiving treatment at Fort-ternan Sub County Hospital and are in stable condition," he said.

The bus driver allegedly fled the scene following the accident.

The unfortunate incident follows a recent tragedy at the Londiani road junction, where 52 people lost their lives on Friday evening. June 30.

A trailer collided with eight Public Service Vehicles and two private cars, resulting in the devastating loss of life.
